Alpha Canine Sanctuary | Bakersfield CA

Welcome to ALPHA Canine Sanctuary, a haven for homeless dogs in picturesque Bakersfield, California. Established in 1995, our 20-acre ranch offers a safe and loving environment for dogs in need. Our dedicated caretakers, employees, and volunteers provide round-the-clock care and attention to ensure that every dog receives the love and protection they deserve.

At ALPHA Canine Sanctuary, we prioritize the well-being of our furry residents. All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and have up-to-date shots. Our dogs enjoy spacious, open runs with ample shade and cozy dog houses.

The combination of fresh air and freedom from concrete creates a peaceful and healthy haven for our four-legged children. During the summer, we open our gates to the public from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. From Monday to Saturday, the sanctuary welcomes visitors from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm throughout the rest of the year.

Please call ahead at 661-391-8212 to confirm our hours of operation. ALPHA Canine Sanctuary operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies solely on the generosity of animal lovers like you. Every dollar counts in supporting our mission.

Donations, whether individual or corporate, are tax deductible and go towards providing for our dogs and funding our spay/neuter programs. Come and visit us at ALPHA Canine Sanctuary and help make a difference in the lives of these deserving dogs. Adopt a dog, become a volunteer, or donate today!
