AL Philanthropies

AL Philanthropies is a UK charitable foundation founded by Andrew Law to address challenges that are overlooked or underfunded by government and other grant-makers. Its work aims to expand human opportunity and create institutional change, helping people from all backgrounds contribute to a more equitable society. The foundation focuses on four areas: education, health and security, culture, and the environment.

Through its education arm, AL Elevation, the foundation sponsors the Laurus Trust, a 17-school multi-academy trust, and supports access to high-quality facilities and co-curricular programmes. It is also the principal funder of Futures for All, formerly Speakers for Schools. In health, it funds neuroscience research at the University of Sheffield and supports Place2Be’s school-based mental health programmes. Its security work includes support for RUSI, a UK security and defence think tank.

AL Philanthropies partners with cultural institutions including The Lowry, Serpentine Galleries, FACTORY, and the V&A. As a founding partner of The Earthshot Prize, it also backs practical commercial solutions to environmental challenges.
