Liz MacPhee – Alpine Flora is the professional practice of Elizabeth (Liz) MacPhee, a horticulturist and ecologist with more than 30 years of experience working across the Australian Alps. Guided by a lifelong commitment to repairing degraded alpine ecosystems, Liz helps individuals and organisations understand the ecological limits and potential of landscapes so they can be managed sustainably.
The practice provides expertise and guidance for rehabilitation and revegetation projects, including the use of native plants and non-weedy exotic species in gardens and other sites. Its work is intended to support long-term improvements in a site’s appearance, habitat value, carbon fixing and biodiversity, while taking account of a changing climate. Liz develops strategies tailored to the ecological conditions of each landscape, helping clients make informed decisions about restoration and ongoing management.
Based in Jindabyne, New South Wales, Alpine Flora works with clients seeking practical ecological insight and successful rehabilitation outcomes. The practice’s focus is on sustaining the natural values of alpine landscapes and helping damaged areas recover through thoughtful, site-appropriate planting and management.
