The Al Rashid Foundation of Canada (ARFC) is an Edmonton-based organization stewarding a community legacy that began in 1938 with the opening of Canada’s first mosque. It brings together institutions and programs that support faith, education, family life, and community well-being, guided by shared purpose, governance, and a long-term commitment to future generations.

Its faith services include the Canadian Islamic Centre, also known as Al Rashid Mosque, daily prayers, prayer-time information, Islamic guidance, marriage services, funeral support, and family mediation. Educational offerings span Edmonton Islamic Academy’s K–12 and elementary campuses, daycare and preschool, and the Imam Al Shatibi Quran Institute. Community programs serve youth and seniors and include women’s groups, outreach, interfaith engagement, and extreme-weather response. The Foundation also connects people with Islamic finance, affordable-housing initiatives, and legal services such as notary support, Islamic wills, and Sharia business conflict resolution. Its facilities host events, while its library, news, podcasts, and video resources share community stories and heritage. ARFC invites people to donate, volunteer, attend programs, and engage with its work.
