ALS in the Heartland (ALSITH) is a community-focused organization providing support and care to people living with ALS, their caregivers, and families in Nebraska and Iowa. Its mission is to offer high-quality, practical help for today while fostering hope for the future. The organization is independent of, and not funded by or affiliated with, the national ALS Association; funds it raises support people with ALS in its local communities.
ALSITH offers a range of programs and services, including a respite grant program, equipment loan program, children’s funds, individual and group support, and patient financial assistance. It also provides the Brad Meyer Memorial Scholarship and resources for preserving a person’s voice.
