ALTA Foods, based in Goldsboro, NC, is a distinguished and family-owned brand with a remarkable story. This business had its humble beginnings back in 1987 when a father-and-son duo embarked on a tortilla venture in Texas. After experiencing success with their Pepito tortilla line, they decided to establish ALTA Foods.

Over the years, ALTA Foods has flourished, becoming one of the largest tortilla brands on the East Coast. Their impressive customer base includes renowned retailers such as Walmart, Ingles, and Food Lion. In 1999, the tortilla division of ALTA Foods was acquired by Gruma Corporation, and the Barnes family assisted in building a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that still operates today.

In 2007, ALTA Foods was born as a new company focused on growth and innovation in the tortilla industry, led by the dynamic duo of Don Barnes and Allen Lydick. Despite the challenging economic climate during the Great Recession, ALTA Foods persevered and thrived, expanding their product line and gaining recognition as a major supplier to the US Military and its allies. Today, ALTA Foods is a leading force in the industry, offering a wide range of tortilla products under their popular brands Fiesta Fit and Celia's.
