Altas Research

Altas-Research is an organization focused on the responsible management of surplus and outdated firearms. Guided by values of security, responsibility, and transparency, it works to prevent weapons from contributing to conflict, crime, or environmental harm. The organization’s approach centers on dismantling arms with accountability, recovering and recycling their materials, and helping secure stockpiles across Europe.

Altas-Research presents disarmament as a way to support safer communities and a more peaceful future. It describes its work as grounded not in force, but in understanding and international cooperation, with the aim of keeping weapons out of the wrong hands and turning materials from decommissioned arms toward more constructive use. Its mission also emphasizes the human and environmental benefits of responsible disposal, arguing that resources should serve communities rather than remain tied to instruments of violence. Through these efforts, Altas-Research seeks to contribute to security and shared growth while promoting transparent, responsible action.
