Altech Batteries Ltd is a specialty battery technology company revolutionizing the energy storage industry. With a joint venture agreement with Fraunhofer IKTS, a leading German battery institute, Altech is commercializing the groundbreaking CERENERGY® Sodium Chloride Solid State (SCSS) Battery. These batteries are a game-changer, offering a safer and more durable alternative to lithium-ion batteries.
They are fire and explosion-proof, have a lifespan of over 15 years, and can operate in extreme climates. What sets CERENERGY® batteries apart is their use of table salt, making them lithium-free, cobalt-free, graphite-free, and copper-free. This eliminates concerns about rising metal prices and supply chain issues.
The joint venture is planning to construct a 100MWh production facility in Saxony, Germany, with the capacity to produce 1,000 1MWh CERENERGY® battery GridPacks each year. Additionally, Altech is focused on the development of their Silumina AnodesTM product for the electric vehicle market. Through their proprietary high-purity alumina coating technology, they have achieved a 30% higher energy battery with improved cyclability.
Their silicon/graphite alumina coating plant in Germany will supply Silumina AnodesTM to the European market, helping to drive the future of EVs with smaller, lighter, and more environmentally friendly batteries. Altech is also positioning itself as a supplier of high purity alumina (HPA) with their project in Malaysia. By constructing and operating a 4,500tpa HPA processing plant, Altech aims to meet the growing demand for 99.
99% high purity alumina. With a completed feasibility study, approved project finance, and construction progress, the HPA project is on track to generate significant value.
