About Altimetry
The Broadview Radar Altimetry Toolbox (BRAT) is an innovative open-source software tool designed to enhance the analysis and visualization of radar altimetry data. Developed collaboratively by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the French National Centre for Space Studies (CNES), BRAT is accessible under the GPLv3 license, ensuring it remains free for the altimetry community. This versatile toolbox is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions for popular operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
BRAT supports a wide range of altimetry datasets from notable missions such as ERS-1, ERS-2, Topex/Poseidon, and Sentinel-3. Users can seamlessly read data from official data centers, conduct computations, and visualize the outcomes. This user-friendly platform is essential for researchers and professionals seeking to leverage radar altimetry for marine, climate, and environmental applications, providing powerful tools to drive scientific discovery and insight from complex datasets.
