Always Bev is a charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Barb Jordan in honor of her sister, Beverly. Its mission is to educate and empower people with practical skills to prevent and respond to sexual assault, predatory behavior, and violence. The organization offers personal safety courses, workshops, events, and public speaking for groups including universities, corporations, healthcare teams, schools, and community organizations. Although the curriculum is popular with women, it is designed to benefit everyone.
Training addresses situational awareness, recognizing warning signs and manipulation, consent, relationship red flags, stalking, alcohol-related risks, and what to do when being followed or approached. Participants also learn about body language, trusting intuition, using their voice, threats involving weapons, and self-defense fundamentals. Sessions aim to help people recognize potential danger and develop a plan of action for home, campus, work, and social settings.
Founded from personal experience and a commitment to violence prevention, Always Bev also shares safety tips and collaborates with community and survivor-support organizations.
