About AMAC
AMAC, the American Muslim Advisory Council, is a respected organization dedicated to promoting mutual trust and respect among all individuals through civic engagement, community building, and media relations. Our goal is to safeguard all residents of Tennessee from prejudice and targeted violence. Established in 2012, AMAC originated in response to an alarming anti-Muslim bill, aimed at criminalizing basic religious practices.
In collaboration with Tennessee Muslims, we successfully eliminated the bill's unconstitutional provisions and transformed it into a symbolic gesture. Since then, AMAC has been steadfast in advocating for equal treatment of all faiths within civic institutions and the legal system. Our vision is a Tennessee where everyone, regardless of faith or spiritual beliefs, is embraced, respected, and valued as an integral part of our diverse society.
