Amager Karateskole

Amager Karateskole is a karate club on the island of Amager, Denmark, offering full-contact Kyokushin knockdown karate and self-defence training. Led by the association Kyokushin Jinzen Do Amager, which has been active since 2011, the school welcomes participants of all genders and experience levels from the age of eight. Classes take place in recently renovated martial arts facilities near Frankrigsgade Swimming Pool.

Training follows Japanese budo principles and combines physical practice with a focus on personal development. The club’s approach emphasizes doing one’s best under pressure, a principle expressed through the Kyokushin greeting “Osu.” Members can learn karate techniques, self-defence, Japanese terminology, dojo etiquette and the Jinzen Do syllabus. The school also provides practical information about training schedules, instructors, karate styles and history, and other club branches. Newcomers are invited to attend a free trial session, making it easy to discover the training and community before joining. Amager Karateskole presents karate as a practice for building physical strength, determination and a supportive sense of community.
