Introducing אמאי - a leading brand in the world of anime and manga in Israel. Established in May 2007 as a subsidiary of the Israeli Society for Speculative Fiction and Fantasy, and later becoming an independent association, אמאי is dedicated to promoting and spreading the culture of anime, manga, and Japan in Israel. With a variety of exciting activities, אמאי hosts two annual flagship events - הארוקון (The Harucon) during Purim and אנימאטסורי (Animatsuri) in the summer.

These highly anticipated gatherings take place at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, attracting over 3,500 anime enthusiasts. Additionally, אמאי organizes small events and collaborations with various organizations, including the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, ILA, and the Embassy of Japan. Moreover, אמאי initiates additional projects such as the הספרייה project, which distributes manga books to public libraries across the country, and J-Parties, lively music events featuring Japanese music.

They also hold lectures and screenings of selected anime series, fostering discussions and community engagement. With the goals of nurturing and promoting manga and anime culture, connecting with similar organizations, and nurturing social and cultural relationships among community members, אמאי serves as a leading informational body. It strives to ensure access to manga and anime knowledge, while also emphasizing the fusion of Japanese culture in the realm of anime and manga.
