About Amani Sasa
Amani Sasa is a leading nonprofit organization in Kampala, Uganda that provides comprehensive and holistic care to vulnerable refugee women, men, and children. Founded in 2013 by Missy Ward Angalla and Francis P. Angalla, Amani Sasa aims to fill the significant gap in social services for refugees fleeing war, violence, and persecution in neighboring countries.
At Amani Sasa, the staff is deeply invested in the community they serve, with half of them being program graduates themselves. This empowers refugees to become leaders in their own community, amplifying their voices and ensuring that their needs are understood and met effectively. Through their holistic programs and shelters, Amani Sasa offers urgent relief, critical care, and empowerment to refugees, enabling them to experience healing and reach their fullest God-given potential.
Over the years, thousands of lives have been transformed, with the organization now serving over 450 families per year. Amani Sasa partners closely with Refuge and Hope, as well as the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Florida, who provide essential financial, logistical, and spiritual support. Amani Sasa is dedicated to being the presence of Christ to those marginalized by society, offering safety, wholeness, and empowerment to those in need
