AMaRTI

A.Ma.R.T.I. ETS is a Tuscan nonprofit association dedicated to children affected by kidney diseases and the families who care for them. Founded in 2005 by nephrologists from Meyer Children’s Hospital in Florence and the family of a child with a progressive genetic kidney disease, the association works to address the medical, social, and family challenges of serious childhood kidney conditions. It also promotes greater understanding of kidney disease and its complications among families and community pediatricians, supporting prevention and informed care.

A.Ma.R.T.I. raises funds to support the nephrology and dialysis department at Meyer Children’s Hospital, assist clinical and laboratory research, and provide an annual scholarship for research into rare genetic kidney diseases in collaboration with the University of Florence’s genetics department. Its work also includes financial assistance for families in hardship, purchasing medical prostheses for children with chronic conditions, and raising awareness of chronic kidney disease. Individuals can support these activities through donations, which the association states may be tax-deductible or eligible for tax relief.
