Amatasuna

Amatasuna is a babywearing support service in Normandy, offering guidance to parents and caregivers during the early stages of family life. The name means “motherhood,” reflecting its focus on supporting families through the changes that come with a child’s birth. Amatasuna provides introductory and skills-building babywearing workshops at clients’ homes, adapting each session to the needs of the caregiver and child.

Workshops begin with a discussion of the benefits of babywearing and the importance of respecting a child’s physiology. When the child has been born, the practitioner works with the family to identify a suitable carrying option. Participants can explore and try different types of carriers, including woven and stretchy wraps, ring slings, structured carriers, and mei tais. Families who already own a carrier can also receive guidance on using it. The sessions combine practical instruction with an attentive, collaborative approach that recognizes each child as an individual. Amatasuna is based in L’Isle-Adam and can be contacted by phone or email to learn more about workshops, pricing, and reservations.
