Amazon Technical Academy is a program that trains Amazon employees to transition into Software Development Engineer (SDE) roles within the company. Launched in 2017, the program is designed to provide new career opportunities for Amazon employees by developing the necessary skills, habits, and mindset for success in the SDE role. Developed by experienced Amazon engineers and taught by technical Amazon employees, this competitive program has seen over 90% of graduates successfully transition into SDE roles and increase their salary and compensation packages by an average of 93%.
Applicants must be regular full-time or reduced-time Amazon employees with at least 12 months of blue badge tenure and a high school diploma. For non-Amazon employees, the program is also available through authorized training providers. These training providers offer the program's curriculum outside of Amazon, with their own eligibility requirements and tuition fees. Amazon Technical Academy is part of Amazon's commitment to upskilling its workers and providing educational opportunities at all levels, including cloud computing, machine learning, UX design, and robotics.
