Amberations

Amberations is a welcoming outdoor destination in Marietta, New York, created to help people connect with nature through exploration, quiet reflection, and community. Open to all, the site invites visitors to walk its fields, watch birds, spend time by the creek, and enjoy the surrounding wildlife. Its barn is home to a donkey, Big Joe, and goats named Maree, Mattie, Uncle Louie, and Jam Jam. Visitors may bring carrots, apples, or celery as occasional treats, though the animals follow restricted diets. A pond and its frogs add to the natural setting.

Amberations also offers programs and educational resources, including science lessons and a blog, alongside community events such as fall festivals, solstice celebrations, weddings, and bike races. The organization shares photos and nature-related content to encourage engagement with the outdoors. Its facilities include accessible areas, although the site notes that its large grounds and limited budget may affect access; visitors with specific questions are encouraged to call ahead.
