About African Medical Centre of Excellence
Afreximbank is a multilateral trade finance institution established in 1993, operating in Egypt, Nigeria, Cote D'Ivoire, Zimbabwe, and Uganda. As part of their plans, they are developing the African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE), a world-class medical facility in Abuja, Nigeria. AMCE will provide a full range of medical services, focusing on oncology, cardiology, and hematology, alongside research, education, and development capabilities.
The center aims to address the healthcare supply shortage in West Africa and establish a viable model for quality healthcare in the region. AMCE will offer end-to-end care, improve clinical management through research and training, and cater to both low and high-income patient groups. They will collaborate with key project partners, including King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Bovell Ross Project Management.
The development of AMCE will occur in four phases over a six-year timeline, culminating in a 500-bed facility. With a goal to make an impact on non-communicable disease care in West Africa, Afreximbank is committed to providing world-class clinical services supported by education and research programs
