AMEIr (Associazione Malati Endocrini Irpini) is a nonprofit voluntary association based in Avellino, Italy. It supports people affected by diseases of the endocrine glands, including conditions involving the pituitary, parathyroid, thyroid, adrenal glands and gonads, as well as people living with obesity. The association places patients at the heart of its work, offering encouragement and practical closeness as they face illness and, where possible, pursue recovery.
Guided by the motto “Being together helps us,” AMEIr works in the local community through prevention events focused on endocrine conditions and support for patients, providing a welcoming space to be heard. It also promotes scientific information on the issues addressed by the association, sharing publications and educational content with the help of experts. For young people aged 18 to 28, AMEIr offers a Civil Service opportunity, presenting it as a chance for personal growth and meaningful involvement. Through these activities, the association brings patients, volunteers and the wider community together around awareness, support and learning.
