Vitóriapolis is an almond-growing project based at Herdade da Coelheira in Santa Vitória, near Beja in Portugal’s Alentejo region. Established in 2018, the estate spans 304 hectares and brings together agricultural tradition, modern farming practices, and a commitment to caring for the land. Its principal product is almonds, with four varieties cultivated: Lauranne, Marta, Marinada, and Vairo.
Selected for their suitability to the local climate and fertile soils, these self-fertile trees flower late. The estate reports annual production of 600 tonnes and certified production. Vitóriapolis manages the growing cycle from dormancy and flowering through fruit development, maturation, drying, and harvest, picking each variety separately.
Its approach combines traditional methods with agricultural innovation, including a high-capacity irrigation system designed to use water responsibly and efficiently. Bees are welcomed to help pollinate the orchards. With careful attention from planting to harvest, Vitóriapolis presents its almonds as the result of respect for nature, practical sustainability, and dedicated agricultural work
