American Carbon Registry (ACR) is a leading carbon offset program that is part of Winrock International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged communities, increasing economic opportunities, and sustaining natural resources. With over two decades of experience, ACR is recognized for its high standards of environmental integrity and commitment to innovation. ACR operates in both global voluntary and regulated carbon markets.

It was the first private voluntary offset program in the world when it was founded in 1996. ACR develops rigorous, science-based carbon offset standards and methodologies, and also oversees the registration, verification, and issuance of carbon offset credits. ACR is an approved Offset Project Registry (OPR) for the California Cap-and-Trade program and works closely with the Air Resources Board (ARB) to register and issue California-eligible Registry Offset Credits.

It has also been approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to supply emission reduction units for compliance under the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
