American Dragon Karate

American Dragon Karate is the karate program at Deltona Martial Arts Center in Deltona, Florida, led by program director and chief instructor Sensei Jeremy Mondragon. The school teaches Wado Kai, a traditional Japanese martial art focused on efficient movement, control, and practical technique rather than brute strength. Its training combines longstanding principles with modern instruction, supporting students interested in self-defense, competition, fitness, or ongoing martial arts development.

Programs are available for children ages 5–12 and teens and adults ages 13 and up. Younger students build coordination, balance, listening skills, confidence, and self-control, while older students develop technique, endurance, and mental resilience. Instruction covers kihon fundamentals, kata, partner work, self-defense, and kumite, including controlled Kudo sparring that blends striking and grappling. Kobudo weapons training is also offered. The program’s broader approach includes grappling and techniques associated with Jiu-Jitsu and Judo. Instructors Jeremy Mondragon and Steven Dimitrakakis are black belts in Wado Kai and Tang Soo Do, with experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and Muay Thai.
