The American Fusion Project (AFP) is an educational organization focused on explaining the potential of fusion energy and the importance of accelerating its development. It informs policymakers and the public about how fusion could help address energy, economic, and environmental challenges. AFP presents fusion as a possible source of clean, safe, secure, stable, and affordable energy, while emphasizing that achieving practical fusion power will require sustained investment and political support.

The organization provides educational resources about fusion science and its potential benefits, including articles on limitless energy, clean energy, and the scientific reality of fusion. Its materials also examine why fusion matters for national security, economic competitiveness, and U.S. scientific leadership. AFP shares news and media coverage, highlights fusion-related legislation in Congress, and offers recommendations to Congress for supporting fusion research and development. It also promotes public-private partnerships as a way to advance the field and help build a fusion industry.
