About American Women Artists
American Women Artists is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the inspiration, celebration, and encouragement of women in the visual fine arts. With a mission to address the inequity in art museums, AWA launched the 25 in 25 initiative, aiming to secure 25 museum exhibitions for their women artist members over the next 25 years. Currently, women artists' work comprises only 3-5% of art museum permanent holdings.
AWA is determined to make a difference in this statistic. They offer various membership options for artists, patrons, and galleries, providing opportunities for networking and showcasing artwork. AWA also organizes exhibitions to showcase the talents of their members and create platforms for sales.
