The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is an Australian organisation dedicated to helping children and young people live free from violence, trauma and bullying. Launched in 1997 in memory of Alannah and Madeline Mikac, the Foundation works through care, prevention and advocacy to support children’s safety and wellbeing wherever they live, learn and play.
Its care programs provide practical and therapeutic support for children affected by violence or trauma. Buddy Bags offer essential items and comfort to children in crisis, while services such as ATLAS, trauma consultancy and early childhood support help adults respond to children’s needs. Prevention initiatives, including eSmart and Dolly’s Dream, promote digital safety, positive online behaviour and action against bullying. The Foundation also advocates for children’s rights and participation, and provides learning resources for families, educators and young people.
People can support its work through monthly donations, fundraising, volunteering, partnerships, gifts in wills, raffle tickets and virtual gifts. The Foundation’s broader mission is to help children recover, grow and build safe, strong futures.
