Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS (AMFEMS) is a public fire protection district serving East Louisville, Kentucky, and surrounding areas. Formed through the consolidation of local fire protection districts in 2018 and 2019, the agency now serves about 130,000 people across nearly 100 square miles of Jefferson County and portions of Oldham and Shelby Counties. Its 255-member team operates from 11 fire stations and is among Kentucky’s largest fire and integrated emergency medical services providers.

AMFEMS delivers fire protection, advanced life support emergency medical response and transport, rescue services, and fire prevention. Its work also includes fire marshal services, inspections, code enforcement, community risk reduction, and public education, including elderly fall-prevention education. The district maintains vehicles and facilities to support its operations and serves a varied area of neighborhoods, businesses, industrial sites, major highways, and Ohio River shoreline.

Beyond emergency response, AMFEMS offers public information and open-records resources, recruitment and trainee opportunities, and support for personnel and families through peer and family support, chaplain, and auxiliary programs.
