AMFE SENEGAL

AMFE Sénégal, the Association pour le Maintien des Filles à l’École, is an independent, non-governmental and apolitical organization established in Senegal in 2010. Based in Matam, it works to advance girls’ education, women’s empowerment and leadership through inclusive, community-focused initiatives. Its mission includes promoting access to education, health and training, while helping create safer, more supportive environments for girls and women.

The association supports school access and retention through school-supply distributions, educational materials, tutoring, coaching and scholarships for vocational studies. It also provides menstrual-health education, strengthens community capacity on gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health, and assists survivors, including through legal support and relocation. AMFE Sénégal conducts research, develops educational resources and training modules, and advocates for stronger protections against violence, including rape and child sexual abuse. Its programs also build young people’s civic engagement and leadership, and train girls in field research and data collection. Through projects, public events and partnerships with local communities and institutions, AMFE Sénégal works toward equal opportunities and a brighter future for girls and women across Senegal.
