Introducing the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, formerly known as the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition, the organization has undergone a rebranding to better reflect their mission and reach. The new name, "Amica," derived from the Latin word for "friend," signifies the supportive approach they take towards their clients. Amica Center provides legal representation and impact litigation for immigrants navigating the complex immigration system, aiming to ensure due process, safety, and family unity for all.
With a focus on defending those facing detention or deportation, regardless of background, Amica Center advocates for a humane and just immigration system. Supported by a dedicated team, volunteers, and partners, the organization has made a significant impact since its establishment in 1999, assisting over 50,000 individuals.
