Amigos UY is a brand that offers recreational and psychoeducational outings for young people and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our aim is to provide them with the opportunity to have a group of friends like anyone else their age, with all the benefits that come with it. In the past, many of them lacked friends to celebrate something as valuable as their birthday or to accompany them to the cinema.

Since July 2021, we have been organizing various activities once a week, focusing not only on fun but also on reinforcing autonomy and self-esteem among participants. We believe in what they CAN do, as a diagnosis does not define or determine a person. Beforehand, we conduct interviews with participants and their families, and we also work closely with their therapists to ensure a cohesive approach.

Our team of professionals brings extensive experience to the table. Our services include weekly recreational outings, conferences for families and therapists, and a training course in sociolaboral skills. We are currently located in Montevideo and Maldonado, with plans to expand to Colonia in the near future.
