Amiguitos del Oceano is an initiative by SeaLifeDiving that aims to engage children in an interactive and educational way. This brand, which started in September 2017 in Guayaquil, Samborondón, Machala, Milagro, Salinas, Ayangue, and Quito, seeks to introduce kids to marine animals and raise awareness about the issue of marine pollution through an audiovisual and participatory story. They also encourage children to change their habits and become Ocean Heroes.

Every year, between 2,000 and 7,000 tons of waste are discharged into the sea in Ecuador, which could eventually become marine debris. The pilot project has already reached 20 coastal communities in the province of Santa Elena. The founder of Amiguitos del Oceano, Daniela Hill Piedra, is a biologist and environmental management expert.

She is also a certified advanced diving instructor and the founder of SeaLifeDiving, a diving, education, and conservation organization. Daniela combines her passion for diving and the ocean to carry out various environmental initiatives, such as collecting information in protected marine areas and organizing underwater cleanup events. Amiguitos del Oceano is dedicated to creating a better future for the ocean and its marine life.
