Amimoni is a Greek nonprofit association of parents, guardians and friends of people with visual impairments and additional disabilities. It supports children and adults with the aim of helping each person develop greater independence and participate in a more inclusive world. Since 1993, the association has provided education and support through specialist services and facilities tailored to different needs.
Its services include early intervention, the Iris Day Centre, the Polichni residential home and the Lilian Voudouri Supported Living Facility. Amimoni also develops activities and initiatives that encourage communication, learning and self-expression. These include music programmes, accessible storytelling projects and work to make images in children’s books more understandable. The association has also created a model playground for children it supports and features a sensory integration room at the Iris Day Centre.
Alongside its core services, Amimoni shares news, organises events and participates in European programmes and partnerships. It welcomes donations and volunteers, and offers an online shop.
