AMINa

AMINa ODV is an Italian nonprofit organization that brings together professionals working to improve childbirth and reproductive health experiences. Its mission is to help ensure that people giving birth receive appropriate care that respects their physiology, individual timing and wishes, as well as basic hygiene and health standards. The organization also promotes informed, conscious choices about childbirth and reproductive health.

AMINa works through several forms of support and advocacy. In Italy, it assists vulnerable communities, including migrant women, with support before, during and after childbirth and help accessing reproductive health services. Through international cooperation with local partners, it supports safer births and the development of birth centres focused on respectful care. The organization also collaborates with groups in Italy and Europe to raise awareness and encourage discussion about informed choice, obstetric violence and positive birth experiences. Its initiatives include VOCE, which supports women affected by obstetric violence, alongside storytelling and educational projects.
