AMITRAM is a dedicated association focused on the preservation, renovation, and enhancement of the public transport heritage in the Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing area. Established in 1968 by two tramway enthusiasts who saved the historic tram number 638 from being scrapped, AMITRAM has since amassed a significant collection of vintage trams, buses, and related memorabilia, including uniforms and archives reflecting the history of public transport in France and Europe.
In 1995, the association launched the Tramway Touristique de la Vallée de la Deûle, which offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience early 20th-century tram journeys on France’s only tourist tram line. Within the organization, you can also find a variety of resources, such as an online shop, a magazine titled "P'tit Mongy," and extensive photographic archives. AMITRAM invites the public to enjoy these historical experiences and supports its mission through donations and community engagement. Join AMITRAM in celebrating and preserving public transport heritage while enjoying a memorable ride through history.
