Amma Heima OdV

Amma Heima ODV is a registered volunteer association in Italy’s National Single Register of the Third Sector. Its volunteers work primarily at the Policlinico Umberto I university hospital in Rome, with activities also taking place beyond the hospital. The association’s name means “embraces at home,” reflecting its aim to offer companionship and help people feel welcomed and cared for, as if among family.

Amma Heima provides volunteer support and develops projects and services for older people, hospital patients, and others experiencing vulnerability. Its work also includes supporting caregivers and helping professionals, with a focus on caring for those who care for others. Regular training days help volunteers prepare for their role and look after their own wellbeing.
