Amora Centro Educacional

Amora Centro Educacional is an early childhood school in Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro, serving children from three months of age through preschool, up to age six. Dedicated to childhood for more than 40 years, the school aims to nurture each child’s identity, autonomy, abilities, and early understanding of citizenship. Its child-centered educational approach draws on the Pikler approach, Constructivism, Reggio Emilia, and education for citizenship. Amora emphasizes free play, attentive listening, respect for individual differences, and each child’s pace of development.

The school offers nursery and early childhood education in age-based groups, with flexible schedules from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., including full-day, part-time, extended-day, and supplementary-hour options. Its curriculum includes English through a bilingual atelier led by a specialist teacher, with four hours of English experiences daily. Additional activities include environmental and socio-environmental education, art education, and music. For babies, the school highlights nurturing relationships and freedom of movement; for older children, it supports play, initiative, and active participation in learning.
