About AMOSGateway
The AMOS Gateway is an innovative online platform designed to enhance the computational capabilities for the atomic, molecular, and optical science (AMOS) community. Established by Dr. Barry Schneider from the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Gateway serves as a comprehensive cyberinfrastructure, making advanced computational tools accessible without the need for users to manually download or build complex codes. This feature is particularly beneficial for students and researchers, especially non-experts.
Users can submit data files through the Gateway to perform calculations on various NSF computational systems, with results available for immediate analysis or download. The Gateway's toolkit includes codes for investigating time-independent and time-dependent Schrödinger equations, addressing applications such as spectral calculations, electron scattering, and photoionization. The project has garnered substantial support, evidenced by a significant grant from the NSF.
With nearly 400 registered users, the AMOS Gateway continues to evolve, aiming to include additional functionalities pertinent to astrophysics, fusion research, and silicon etching for computer chip production.
