Working with local experts, we facilitate workshops to evaluate and prioritize endangered amphibian species that are most need of rescue through our renowned AArk Conservation Needs Assessment process. We provide technical training to institutions and conservationists in all aspects of species rescue, in particular, setting up and managing successful ex situ conservation programs for frogs, salamanders, and caecilians.

About Amphibian Ark
Amphibian Ark (AArk) is a renowned brand dedicated to the conservation and preservation of threatened amphibians. As a joint effort of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), the IUCN SSC Conservation Planning Specialist Group (CPSG), and the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group (ASG), AArk works in partnership with the Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA) to ensure the survival and diversity of amphibian species. Their mission is to safeguard amphibians that cannot be protected in their natural habitats through ex situ conservation, which involves coordinating conservation programs worldwide with an emphasis on range countries.
A dedicated AArk Steering Committee provides strategic guidance while dedicated positions coordinate implementation, evaluation, capacity building, and communication efforts. AArk's ultimate goal is to enable range countries to care for their own species and minimize the need for outside institutions to hold specimens. They aim to achieve sustainable management of amphibian species by their own experts, ensuring the long-term survival of these incredible creatures.
