ARDC

ARDC (Amateur Radio Digital Communications) is a California-based foundation rooted in both amateur radio and internet communication technology. Our mission is to support, promote, and enhance digital communication, as well as broader communication science and technology. We strive to advance amateur radio, scientific research, experimentation, education, development, open access, and innovation in information and communication technology.

ARDC manages a significant portion of IP addresses known as 44Net or AMPRNet. This network, dedicated to amateur radio use, allows licensed operators worldwide to set up radio-based networks using various technologies, such as packet radio and Wi-Fi, to exchange data using IP protocols. In addition to managing the IP address space, ARDC operates a grant program.

We provide funding to projects and organizations that are pushing the boundaries of amateur radio and digital communication science. We prioritize innovation and envision a world where technology is available through open source hardware and software, enabling anyone to innovate upon it.
