Amputees NSW, the Amputee Association of New South Wales Incorporated, is a volunteer-based community organisation supporting people affected by limb difference across NSW. Established in 1985, it aims to strengthen community connection and improve access to quality programs, services, and practical, current information. Its support is available to individuals and families and is tailored to individual circumstances.
The organisation offers peer support from volunteers, support groups, counselling and referral, and financial and welfare assistance. Its programs also include services for children and families, seniors, community engagement, and education and professional development. Amputees NSW helps people navigate health services and provides information about accredited amputee clinics, prosthetic service providers, amputation, and living with limb loss. Resources include fact sheets, online forms, and the printed Amputee Journal, which shares information and personal stories.
The association also encourages participation through volunteering and events, and runs AMP CAMP for Australian young people aged 12 and over living with limb loss or congenital limb differences. Amputees NSW works in partnership with EnableNSW.
