AMSAO

AMSAO, the Association of People Affected by Bradykinin-Mediated Angioedema, is a French nonprofit founded in 1997 under the 1901 association law. It supports people living with this condition by encouraging patients to connect and share their experiences, and by improving access to information about research and treatment developments. The association also works to raise awareness of the disease among medical professionals and to facilitate access to new treatments while supporting the development of future therapies.

AMSAO holds meetings across France, averaging two gatherings each year, where patients, specialist doctors and volunteers can come together. Its website provides information on hereditary angioedema, its causes, symptoms, triggers and progression, as well as treatments for attacks, preventive care and self-injection training. Visitors can also find medical resources, brochures, news, clinical-study information, an agenda, expert doctor listings and frequently asked questions. Membership is available online or by mail, and supporters can renew subscriptions or make donations. AMSAO is affiliated with the MaRIH rare-disease network and belongs to Alliances Maladies Rares, Eurordis and HAEi.
