American Technical Institute (AMTEC) is a technical school in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, specializing in motorcycle mechanics, customization, and high-performance work. Founded in 2003, the institute established its facilities on Ave. Castiglioni in Bayamón Gardens and received approval from Puerto Rico’s General Education Council in 2004.
AMTEC describes itself as the first college in Puerto Rico to offer programs connected to the motorcycle industry and says it is currently the island’s only institution specializing in this field. The institute offers a regular Program in Motorcycle Technology and Mechanics, with basic and advanced training available during daytime and evening hours. Short courses, held on Saturdays, cover light motorcycle mechanics, maintenance and repair of electric generators, and maintenance and repair of gardening equipment.
AMTEC also provides student services that include financial aid information, admissions guidance, orientation and counseling, a virtual library, and placement support. The institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and invites prospective students to request information and apply
