A.M.WAKEUPCALL is a family-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in memory of Amanda McAuley, who died from fentanyl poisoning at age 27. Based in the Youngstown, Ohio area, the organization works to prevent fentanyl-related deaths through education, awareness, and community outreach. Its central aim is to reach young people and families with information about the dangers of fentanyl and drug use before substance abuse begins.
The nonprofit brings the community together through events such as its annual Walk for Awareness in Poland, Ohio. The family-friendly event includes a 2K route, opportunities to honor loved ones, and activities that encourage participation, remembrance, and learning. Donations support educational programs and resources, outreach to young people and families, and expanded prevention efforts. A.M.WAKEUPCALL also invites people to contribute through volunteering, fundraising, team participation, and sharing its mission.
The organization is developing a theatrical production about Amandaβs life and the impact of fentanyl, with plans to adapt it for school performances across Ohio.
