Amy Bainton is a Bay Area visual artist and art therapy practitioner whose work brings creativity and mental health support together. Her practice combines talk therapy with art-based techniques, helping children, teens, families, and adults explore their personal stories, strengthen self-understanding, and work toward meaningful change. She is particularly interested in supporting neurodivergent young people, students facing learning challenges, and children and teens experiencing anxiety. In a collaborative, welcoming setting, clients can use open-ended art making to explore feelings, build confidence and self-advocacy, and develop resilience and practical coping strategies.

As an artist, Bainton works primarily in drawing, painting, and needlework, using creative practice to explore reflection, physical tension, and joy. She holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with an Art Therapy focus and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Art Therapy Psychology at Dominican University of California. Since July 2025, she has worked in a private practice setting supporting the mental health needs of the Bay Area community.
