Federación ANABAD

ANABAD is a Spanish federation bringing together professional associations and practitioners working in archives, libraries, documentation and information centres, museums, interpretation centres, and archaeological heritage. With more than 75 years of history, it promotes cooperation across the sector and represents professionals and institutions before public bodies and society. Its territorial unions, member associations, and specialist working groups coordinate activity while addressing local needs and discipline-specific challenges.

Professional development is a central part of ANABAD’s work. The federation offers courses, workshops, conferences, and other events to help members update their knowledge, exchange experience, and explore innovation. It also shares sector news and provides professional resources, including directories, legislation, documentary databases, library and digital hemeroteca resources, and research initiatives. ANABAD publishes monographs, bulletins, information sheets, and other specialist materials, and provides access to its library catalogue and electronic resources. Through membership, professionals can participate in a national network focused on strengthening the visibility, development, and accessibility of documentary culture and heritage throughout Spain.
