Ancestry is a family history and genealogy service that helps people explore their origins, build family connections, and research relatives. Its AncestryDNA test provides an origins report drawing on more than 4,800 geographical regions and journeys, including insights into 93 African ethnic groups, and can connect customers with genetic relatives through DNA Matches. Customers can also access DNA features such as Traits, which explores how genes may influence nutrition, performance, and appearance, and tools that show which parental or grandparental lines contributed to their ancestry.
Ancestry offers DNA kits on their own or bundled with World Explorer and All Access family history memberships. These subscriptions provide access to U.S. and international historical records, with the site describing a collection of more than 70 billion records. All Access also includes military records through Fold3, articles and photos through Newspapers.com, and the option to add up to four other accounts. Together, Ancestry’s DNA testing and research resources support discovering family stories and connecting with relatives. Some DNA features require a subscription.
