The Ulster Historical Foundation is a not-for-profit educational charity that has been telling the story of the people of Ulster since 1956. Their mission is to disseminate heritage and cultural knowledge and provide the necessary research and educational resources to support individuals, families, groups, educators, and global diasporas in understanding the history of Ulster. They believe in using history to emphasize shared history and connections, promoting community cohesion, especially in Northern Ireland.

The Foundation offers a wide range of products and services. They provide practical resources and hands-on archival research experience to interested amateur researchers to pursue their own research interests in local and family history. They also offer social and educational outreach projects, working with local groups and individuals to provide access to historical research and expertise.

Moreover, they have educational programs aimed at creating cross-cultural understanding and bridge-building for young people and migrant communities in Northern Ireland. The Foundation is committed to promoting a positive image of Northern Ireland overseas and strengthening the links between Ireland and those of Ulster descent. They also strive to broaden access to historical documents and records for Irish and Scots-Irish genealogy.

Overall, the Ulster Historical Foundation takes pride in their work to sustain interest in local and family history, celebrate the diversity of cultural heritage in Ulster, and inspire pride in Irish and Ulster heritage and culture
