Ancgg

The Association Nationale des Chasseurs de Grand Gibier (ANCGG) is a French organization founded in 1950 and recognized as being of public benefit. It works to promote responsible management of large wildlife, preserve natural habitats, and improve hunters’ knowledge and skills. Its activities include the Brevet Grand Gibier, a qualification supported by training and resources for candidates, as well as specialized courses covering large-game hunting, shooting skills, and forest–wildlife balance.

The ANCGG also provides educational tools, including an online quiz that helps members prepare for the Brevet Grand Gibier examination, and a video platform explaining how to restore and maintain balance between forests and wildlife. Its publications include Grande Faune, a specialist magazine on large wildlife, alongside books and documentary resources. The association shares news, conducts surveys—including research into the effectiveness of lead and lead-free ammunition—and supports trophy measurement through its associated bodies. Through its national network and departmental associations, the ANCGG serves hunters seeking practical guidance, learning opportunities, and information about large-game management.
