About to Anchoring Communities
Anchoring Communities Uganda (ACU) is an organization dedicated to empowering communities with essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Through their focus on Gender Transformative Approaches, Sexual Reproductive Health/HIV, and Livelihoods programming, ACU aims to ensure gender and health equity. They draw inspiration from an anchor, which secures a vessel and prevents it from drifting in the presence of wind or current.
Similarly, ACU works to help individuals and communities overcome the challenges that negatively impact their health, social, and economic well-being. ACU envisions communities where vulnerable and marginalized populations are empowered to make informed decisions and take charge of their health, economic, and social well-being. Their mission is to provide communities with knowledge, information, skills, and health-related services to enable them to live healthy and self-sustaining lives.
