Andrea Maddalena is an architect, art historian, independent researcher, speaker, and teacher based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. Born in Rome, he has studied the connections between art, architecture, symbolism, and personal transformation for more than 20 years. His work combines historical research with symbolic interpretation, using art to encourage awareness, fresh perspectives, and critical insight.
Maddalena offers lectures, seminars, lessons, and guided city tours in Dutch, English, and Italian. His subjects include Etruscan, Roman, and medieval art and architecture, Italian cultural heritage, and the ways cities can be understood as living organisms. He also teaches Italian and has worked as a musician, composer, and performer.
In October 2025, publisher Stuivenberg is scheduled to release his first book, Met nieuwe ogen – Vermeer door de lens van Mondriaan. The book examines Johannes Vermeer’s art through the artistic language of Piet Mondrian, exploring possible links across Dutch painting. His website also features books, reviews, podcasts, articles, interviews, and ongoing research, with online courses and counseling and coaching listed as under construction
